A neighborhood hospital with medical center excellence
Opening in Spring 2026
Universal Health Services (UHS) submitted an application to the city of Palm Beach Gardens zoning and development department for conceptual land use and zoning approvals in support of our proposed development of the 34-acre parcel of land in the subdivision of Alton, near Donald Ross Rd. The Palm Beach Gardens City Council unanimously approved the land to build the New Alton Hospital, now officially named the Alan B. Miller Medical Center.
This is an attractive location and has the potential to accommodate future growth as we continue to expand our services and locations, supporting the healthcare needs of the community. We look forward to keeping our community and neighbors updated on construction progress of the Alan B. Miller Medical Center in the months ahead.
Our plans include building a new 150-bed hospital in a seven-story building totaling 365,000 square feet, a four-story medical office building totaling 80,000 square feet, and a helistop.

Full development plans for the property are not yet finalized. We look forward to moving forward with our project, receiving approval from the City of Palm Beach Gardens and providing additional information as decisions are made and plans are confirmed in the near future.
Pending regulatory approvals, our plans include building a new 150-bed hospital in a seven-story building totaling 365,000 square feet, a four-story medical office building totaling 80,000 square feet, 1,019 parking spaces, and a helipad.

900
Hospital is located 900’ away from the southern property line. This was developed with input from the local homeowners.
Helistop: The hospital is proposing a Helistop, not a Helipad. The Helistop is located on the extreme north end of the land. The intent of the helistop is for emergencies only. The helistop will rarely be used and primarily for taking critically ill or injured to another facility. This helistop will be a tremendous benefit to the community. This helistop will be the closest air lift transportation from Port St Lucie to 45th St on I-95 and the Florida Turnpike. The flight path mirrors the traffic on I-95 and does not fly over any residential areas.
Net Trips: Net trips are 468 am peak and 476 pm peak which is how the county measures traffic. All traffic counts are part of the City’s original approval for the Alton community. We are not requesting any “new” trips.

Serving a Growing Population
This location was earmarked by Alton as a future healthcare site that will serve the growing population. The population of the area is expected to continue its rapid expansion requiring additional services to support the neighborhood growth, such as the hospital, new businesses, municipal services, transportation and home development.
Completing the hospital at the early stages of the projected population growth will allow the healthcare facility to grow and expand alongside the area and provide services specifically tailored to the needs of its neighbors. The blending of the hospital, local businesses and community into a singular vision exemplifies the Alton philosophy of “Live, Work, Play” and its combination of recreation, business, convenience and residential living.
